OBSERVATION LOGS

ENTRY 001: March 15, 2003
Subject discovered in Blackfeather settlement. Notable isolation from other villagers despite communal living arrangement. Slow establishment. Phoebe's mundane, repetitive, unfulfilling routine. She is mediocre at playing the guitar, cooks food for her community, and speaks with her older male familial figure. She speaks about the weather being “Nice enough for a concert!” to her uncle who laughs. Spends considerable time practicing with a stringed instrument (identified as "bass guitar"). Introduced myself to the specimen. Gave pet crow to her. Bird exhibits tertiary ocular development and behavioral changes. Active editory action by me. Subject unaware of physiological alterations, only expresses relief at reunion.
Phoebe writes songs at her desk with a stack of crumpled papers in the trash next to her. She chews on her pencil eraser as she listens to the zany happenings of the world outside of her view. Empty bird cage in background.
ENTRY 007: March 22, 2003
Repeat in Phoebe's mundane, repetitive, unfulfilling routine. She is still mediocre at playing the guitar, cooks food for her community, and speaks with her older male familial figure. She is clearly happier, the crow is now on her shoulder/near her the whole time. Watching. She speaks about the weather being “Nice enough for a concert!” to her uncle who laughs. I return, showing Accordion and giving gifts. The decision to leave is fullfilled, Subject has agreed to accompany me on ethnographic survey. Rationale provided: "To preserve what humanity has left." She believes this is a noble endeavor. Her idealism is fascinating. Positive move, no direct suspicion or violence. We leave to GLBAI.
Crow now functions as mobile observational unit. Subject's emotional attachment to the bird presents optimal leverage point for deeper engagement.
ENTRY 015: April 1, 2003
Bonnie and Gordon, two scientists are arguing because an experiment that Bonnie was working on impeded and used Gordon's plurality core. I spoke to Bonnie. A large test tube with a writhing person, larger black man, their body is corrupted. The posing is painful looking, a horn is growing out of the head with wings sprouting. More limbs are coming out. Groans and screams coming out of the individual, gargling and general body horror. This lab is rather filthy, with gore and corpses around. I have a good conversation with Doctor Remedy. Phoebe speaks to Gordon.
“A defibrillator helps people come back to life, similar to Gordon’s machine. That's all.”
ENTRY 023: April 10, 2003
The radio is quietly playing Diamond Guillotine propaganda. ‘Your protection at the Diamond Guillotine is paramount. Come get a drink!”. I have been driving with Subject ma-1987-001. Phoebe. We discuss music and I note emotional reaction. We enter "DEADSPUR", within the Hornback Wasteland region; also known as Texas. We meet a woman around her 60's with bovine mutations, common of the region. Phoebe offers to help cook, and does so. I pay 20 Reagans for a room. Me and Phoebe lay down in the seperate beds. I listen to her flip through files and books.
The crow remains with her at all times. Its footage is remarkably clear. She calls it her "friend." She has named it "Poe," a name from a pre-infection storybook she carries with her.
